The MSP430F42xA is a mixed-signal microcontroller from Texas Instruments (TI) that features a 16-bit RISC architecture, low power consumption, a 1.8 V to 3.6 V supply range, three independent 16-bit sigma-delta A/D converters, a 16-bit Timer_A, and three capture/compare registers. It also features an integrated LCD driver, a choice of serial communication interfaces (USART) or synchronous SPI, a brownout detector, a programmable power supply voltage supervisor/monitor, serial onboard programming, no external programming voltage needed, programmable code protection by security fuse, and a boot loader in Flash devices.
