The DS3065W is a combination of static RAM and nonvolatile controller, with a year 2000-compliant real-time clock and an internal rechargeable manganese lithium battery. It has a 256-ball BGA footprint and internal rechargeable function. When powered by an external power source, it can recharge the manganese lithium battery, power the clock and SRAM, and allow modification of the clock registers or SRAM contents. When the external power is powered down or out-of-tolerance, the controller write-protects the memory contents and powers the clock and SRAM from the battery. The DS3065W also contains a power-supply monitor output and a user-programmable interrupt output.
