V100 Door/Reader Interface is a complete, full-featured hardware/firmware infrastructure for access control software host systems. The V100 Door/Reader Interface connects two door access card readers through Wiegand or Clock-and-Data interfaces to control one or two doors. Features of the V100 include on-board flash memory to allow over-the-network program updates. The V100 connects via a high-speed RS-485 network to the V1000. The V1000 communicates with the system host over 10/100 Mbps Ethernet or the Internet using an industrial standard TCP/IP protocol. This architecture significantly reduces impact on an enterprise LAN because only one TCP/IP address is used for every 32 interfaces and the lowest level transaction processing is done on the RS-485 network.
