This document introduces Littelfuse's 125VAC fast-acting or time-delay plug fuses, including product types, specifications, and applicable ranges.

The RA Series transient surge suppressors are varistors (MOVs) supplied in a low-profile box that features a precise seating plane to increase mechanical stability for secure circuit-board mounting. This feature makes these devices suitable for industrial applications critical to vibration. Their construction permits operation up to 125oC (ambient) without derating. The RA series are available in voltage ratings up to 275V VM(AC)RMS, and energy levels up to 140J. These varistors are used in automotive, motor-control, telecommunication, and military applications. The 217 Series fast-acting fuse is available in ratings from 0.032 to 15 amperes and meets the IEC 60127-2 standard. RoHS and lead-free versions are available.

Littelfuse now offers a complete selection of “E” and “R” rated medium voltage fuses for the protection of trans- formers, potential transformers, feeders, and motor circuits. Single, double, and triple barrel designs are available to cover a wide range of current, voltage, and interrupting ratings. Conventional ferrule type, clip lock, and bolt-in mounting configurations are now available for virtually any application. Hermetically sealed fuses for use in hazardous environments are also offered. 131 series semiconductor fuse blocks are modular in design to accommodate a wide range of semiconductor fuses, with a maximum diameter of 3 inches. This modular design greatly reduces inventory requirements. They are sold in pairs and are constructed of molded phenolic, with plated steel studs.

The product is a Schottky diode, model SLD 10U, with a maximum peak power of 2200 watts and a maximum peak pulse power of 50,000 watts. It is used for protection of sensitive electronic devices in automotive systems.

The SLD series is specifically designed for automotive applications, available in both unidirectional and bidirectional. The SLD 10U is designed to be used in series, for example three 10Us in series for a 30 volt working; this configuration will provide a very high power (a multiple of 3) capability and is a far superior solution than using devices in parallel, which will require closely matched devices in order to prevent ‘current hogging’ and consequently, damage to the device.
