LINEAR LT3012 handbook
The LT3012 is a high voltage, micropower low dropout linear regulator. The device is capable of supplying 250mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 400mV. Designed for use in battery-powered or high voltage systems, the low quiescent current (40µA operating and 1µA in shutdown) makes the LT3012 an ideal choice. Quiescent current is also well controlled in dropout. Other features of the LT3012 include the ability to operate with very small output capacitors. The regulators are stable with only 3.3µF on the output while most older devices require between 10µF and 100µF for stability. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without any need for series resistance (ESR) as is common with other regulators. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting and reverse current protection. The device is available with an adjustable output.

LINEAR LT1510/LT1510-5 handbook
LT1510/LT1510-5 is a simple and efficient solution for fast-charging modern rechargeable batteries including lithium-ion (Li-Ion), nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH)*, and nickel-cadmium (NiCd)* that require constant-current and/or constant-voltage charging. It features an internal switch capable of delivering 1.5A DC current (2A peak current). The charging current programming is simplified with a 0.1Ω onboard current sense resistor, requiring only one resistor or a programming current from a DAC to set the full charging current (1.5A) within 5% accuracy. With 0.5% reference voltage accuracy, the LT1510 meets the critical constant-voltage charging requirement for lithium cells. It can charge batteries ranging from 2V to 20V, and does not require ground sensing of current, allowing the battery's negative terminal to be tied directly to ground. The chip operates with a saturating switch running at 200kHz (500kHz for LT1510-5), providing high charging efficiency and small inductor size. A blocking diode is not needed between the chip and the battery as the chip goes into sleep mode and drains only 3µA when the wall adaptor is unplugged. Soft start and shutdown features are also included.

LINEAR LT1500/LT1501 Adaptive-Frequency Current Mode Switching Regulators handbook
The LT ® 1500 is an adaptive-frequency current mode step-up switching regulator with an internal power switch that is rated up to 700mA. In contrast to pulse skipping switching regulators, the LT1500 uses a current mode topology that provides lower noise operation and im- proved efficiency. Only at very light loads is Burst Mode TM activated to give high efficiency and micropower opera- tion. High switching frequency (up to 500kHz) allows very small inductors to be used, along with ceramic capacitors if desired. The LT1500 operates with input voltages from 1.8V to 15V and has only 200µA operating current dropping to 8µA in shutdown. A low-battery comparator is included which stays alive in shutdown. A second output feedback pin with negative polarity allows negative output voltages to be regulated when the switcher is connected up as a Cuk or a flyback converter. Two package types are available. The LT1500 comes in a 14-pin SO package, with two options available for fixed output (3.3V or 5V) or adjustable operation. A reduced feature part, the LT1501, comes in the smaller 8-pin SO package with internal frequency compensation. It is also available in adjustable and fixed output voltage versions.
