The C 5:4X is an installation amplifier with comprehensive remote monitoring and control capabilities. It features NomadLink network ports for connecting to an optional NLB 60E NomadLink Bridge & Network Controller and an Ethernet-linked PC. With NomadLink, key amplifier parameters can be displayed via DeviceControl software, and channel mute and power on/off can be remotely controlled over the network. Alternatively, the GPIO facilities allow access to key amplifier functions via third-party remote control systems. To ensure a long and trouble-free service life, the C 5:4X incorporates extensive features to safeguard internal circuits and connected loads. Protection and warning circuits prevent damage or service interruptions caused by excessive current, DC at the output, over-temperature, non-musical VHF (very high frequencies), and open load conditions. Additionally, soft-start and PSU current limiting protect the mains supply from interruptions due to tripped circuit breakers or blown mains fuses.
