This document introduces the features and characteristics of the May 2005 MITSUBISHI Intelligent Power Module PM100RLA120. The module adopts the new 5th generation IGBT (CSTBT) chip, which has improved performance. It has over-temperature protection with error output possible from all upper and lower arm of IPM. The current rating of the brake part has been increased by 50% compared to the inverter part. It is a 3-phase 100A, 1200V current-sense IGBT type inverter and 50A, 1200V current-sense regenerative brake IGBT. It has a monolithic gate drive and protection logic, as well as detection, protection, and status indication circuits for short-circuit, over-temperature, and under-voltage. It is suitable for acoustic noise-less 18.5kW/22kW class inverter applications.
