The TSL2560 and TSL2561 are light-to-digital converters that transform light intensity to a digital signal output capable of direct I2C (TSL2561) or SMBus (TSL2560) interface. Each device combines one broadband photodiode (visible plus infrared) and one infrared-responding photodiode on a single CMOS integrated circuit capable of providing a near-photopic response over an effective 20-bit dynamic range (16-bit resolution). Two integrating ADCs convert the photodiode currents to a digital output that represents the irradiance measured on each channel. This digital output can be input to a microprocessor where illuminance (ambient light level) in lux is derived using an empirical formula.
This document provides an overview and user guide for the Light-to-Frequency Converter Evaluation Module, which allows evaluation of TAOS family of light-to-frequency converter optical sensors. The module interfaces with a host PC via a USB port and comes with device-specific daughterboards and LED light sources for versatile sensor evaluation.
This document provides a designer's notebook for the TSL1401R intelligent opto sensor. The product is designed for portable, high-performance applications, operates at a voltage range of 3V to 5.5V, has rail-to-rail output voltage swing, improved dark-signal non-uniformity, and higher speed operation. The document summarizes the major differences between the TSL1401 and TSL1401R and provides system considerations for a smooth transition.
This news release introduces TAOS's TSL257 optical converter, which provides high sensitivity, low noise and positive offset without sacrificing speed. The converter is integrated in a small, single monolithic IC and is well suited for smoke, mark and color detection applications as well as in proximity sensors and ambient light systems for contrast control.
