SEMTECH SC606 Low Noise Smart LED Driver with Serial Interface handbook

The SC606 is a very high efficiency charge pump white/color LED driver from the mAhXLifeTM family of products. It is optimized for Li-Ion battery applications. The LED current is regulated to a value configured by the user through an I2C compatible serial interface. LED outputs are current-matched for consistent LED brightness. Up to 6 LEDs are controlled in three zones for brightness control in multiple displays. The 6 LED outputs are divided into 3 pairs of LEDs. Each pair has current that is programmable independent of the other pairs. Any combination of LEDs may be turned on using the serial interface. The SC606 also has a float detect feature that disables any current driver during normal operation when an open-load condition is detected. Patented low noise switching circuitry and constant output current allow the use of extremely small input and output capacitors.

SC605 is a high-current charge pump designed specifically for use with white LEDs used in camera flash applications. It has two modes of operation: Flash mode and Spotlight mode. In Flash mode, the SC605 is capable of delivering 500mA of regulated current for a duration of 500ms or up to 700mA for a reduced duration. In Spotlight mode the SC605 can output 20%, 30%, or 40% of the Flash mode current and remain enabled continuously.

The SC604A is a very high efficiency charge pump white LED driver optimized for Li-Ion battery applications. It features four LED outputs that are current matched for consistent LED brightness. The charge pump automatically reconfigures to match circuit conditions, resulting in extremely low battery current. With four LEDs, each at 20mA, the SC604A can use less than 83mA from the supply for most of the battery life. It utilizes patented low noise mode switching circuitry and constant output current, allowing for the use of extremely small input and output capacitors. SEMTECH SC1401 handbook

The SC1401 is a synchronous buck regulator designed to power the latest generation microprocessors in battery operated systems. It can provide both the I/O and core voltages utilizing synchronous rectification for the core supply voltage and an LDO N-Channel MOSFET controller for the I/O supply voltage. A 1.25 volt reference allows lower output voltages required by today’s portable microprocessors. The synchronous buck regulator is capable of achieving efficiencies up to 95%. The gate drive circuitry can deliver 2.0A peak currents, allowing the use of N-channel MOSFETs for lower switching and conduction losses. A digital soft start is provided to ensure orderly start up of the power supply without the need for external components. At light load in power save mode, the controller changes mode of operation by missing gate drive cycles, thus reducing gate drive current and improving efficiency. A logic high on PSAVE disables the power saving mode thus reducing noise. The SC1401 is fabricated in a high performance BiCMOS process. This process reduces the power dissipation in low current and shutdown operation modes and improves efficiency. The LDO controller is a high performance positive voltage regulator designed to provide a low noise power source to the microprocessor peripherals.
