MAXIM MAX1132/MAX1133 Manual

The MAX1132/MAX1133 are 200ksps, 16-bit ADCs. These serially interfaced ADCs connect directly to SPI™, QSPI™, and MICROWIRE™ devices without external logic. They combine an input scaling network, internal track/hold, clock, a +4.096V reference, and three general-purpose digital output pins (for external multiplexer or PGA control) in a 20-pin SSOP package. The excellent dynamic performance (SINAD ≥ 85dB), high-speed (200ksps), and low power (7.5mA) of these ADCs, make them ideal for applications such as industrial process control, instrumentation, and medical applications. The MAX1132 accepts input signals of 0 to +12V (unipolar) or ±12V (bipolar), while the MAX1133 accepts input signals of 0 to +4.096V (unipolar) or ±4.096V (bipolar). Operating from a single +4.75V to +5.25V analog supply and a +4.75V to +5.25V digital supply, power-down modes reduce current consumption to 1mA at 10ksps and further reduce supply current to less than 20µA at slower data rates. A serial strobe output (SSTRB) allows direct connection to the TMS320 family of digital signal processors. The MAX1132/MAX1133 user can select either the internal clock, or an external serial-interface clock for the ADC to perform analog-to-digital conversions. The MAX1132/MAX1133 feature internal calibration circuitry to correct linearity and offset errors. On-demand calibration allows the user to optimize performance. MAXIM MAX509/MAX510 Manual

The MAX509/MAX510 are quad, serial-input, 8-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converters (DACs). They operate with a single +5V supply or dual ±5V supplies. Internal, precision buffers swing rail-to-rail. The reference input range includes both supply rails. The MAX509 has four separate reference inputs, allowing each DAC's full-scale range to be set independently. 20-pin DIP, SSOP, and SO packages are available. The MAX510 is identical to the MAX509 except it has two reference inputs, each shared by two DACs. The MAX510 is housed in space-saving 16-pin DIP and SO packages. The serial interface is double-buffered: A 12-bit input shift register is followed by four 8-bit buffer registers and four 8-bit DAC registers. A 12-bit serial word is used to load data into each register. Both input and DAC registers can be updated independently or simultaneously with single software commands. Two additional asynchronous control pins provide simultaneous updating (LDAC) or clearing (CLR) of input and DAC registers. The interface is compatible with MicrowireTM and SPI/ QSPITM. All digital inputs and outputs are TTL/CMOS compatible. A buffered data output provides for read-back or daisy-chaining of serial devices.

MAXIM DS56 Manual

The DS56 Dual Temperature Comparator is a temperature sensor and voltage reference combination device that has two independent open-drain thermostat outputs and respective trip point inputs. The trip points are set with external resistors that divide down the 1.25V internal bandgap voltage reference. The voltage resulting from this resistive division is compared with the voltage corresponding to the device’s junction temperature to define the thermostat output logic state. The internal temperature sensor has a typical sensitivity of +6.2mV/°C and DC offset of +395 mV at 0°C. Both thermostat outputs have adjustable hysteresis. The device is housed in a narrow-body SO8 (150-mil) package and has an operating power supply range of 2.7V to 5.5V. It is suitable for monitoring disk drives, printers, office equipment, HVAC, appliances, or any power/cost/temperature-sensitive environments.

MAXIM MAX4212/MAX4213 Manual

MAX4212/MAX4213 single, MAX4216 dual, MAX4218 triple, and MAX4220 quad op amps are unity-gain-stable devices that combine high-speed per- formance with Rail-to-Rail® outputs. The MAX4213/ MAX4218 have a disable feature that reduces power- supply current to 400µA and places the outputs into a high-impedance state. These devices operate from a 3.3V to 10V single supply or from ±1.65V to ±5V dual supplies. The common-mode input voltage range extends beyond the negative power-supply rail (ground in single-supply applications). These devices require only 5.5mA of quiescent supply current while achieving a 300MHz -3dB bandwidth and a 600V/µs slew rate. Input-voltage noise is only 10nV/√Hz and input-current noise is only 1.3pA/√Hz for either the inverting or noninverting input. These parts are an excellent solution in low-power/low-voltage sys- tems that require wide bandwidth, such as video, com- munications, and instrumentation. In addition, when disabled, their high-output impedance makes them ideal for multiplexing applications. The MAX4212 comes in a miniature 5-pin SOT23 pack- age, while the MAX4213/MAX4216 come in 8-pin µMAX and SO packages. The MAX4218/MAX4220 are available in space-saving 16-pin QSOP and 14-pin SO packages.

MAXIM MAX8211/MAX8212 Manual

Maxim’s MAX8211 and MAX8212 are CMOS micropower voltage detectors that warn microprocessors (µPs) of power failures. Each contains a comparator, a 1.5V bandgap reference, and an open-drain N-channel output driver. Two external resistors are used in conjunction with the internal reference to set the trip voltage to the desired level. A hysteresis output is also included, allowing the user to apply positive feedback for noise-free output switching. The MAX8211 provides a 7mA current-limited output sink whenever the voltage applied to the threshold pin is less than the 1.5V internal reference. In the MAX8212, a voltage greater than 1.5V at the threshold pin turns the output stage on (no current limit). The CMOS MAX8211/MAX8212 are plug-in replacements for the bipolar ICL8211/ICL8212 in applications where the maximum supply voltage is less than 16.5V. They offer several performance advantages, including reduced supply current, a more tightly controlled bandgap reference, and more available current from the hysteresis output.

MAXIM MAX500 Manual(1)

The MAX500 is a quad, 8-bit, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a cascadable serial interface. The IC includes four output buffer amplifiers and input logic for an easy-to-use, two- or three-wire serial interface. In a system with several MAX500s, only one serial data line is required to load all the DACs by cascading them. The MAX500 contains double-buffered logic and a 10-bit shift register that allows all four DACs to be updated simultaneously using one control signal. There are three reference inputs so the range of two of the DACs can be independently set while the other two DACs track each other. The MAX500 achieves 8-bit performance over the full operating temperature range without external trimming.
