MICROCHIP MCP2140 controller Manual

The MCP2140 is a low-pin count (18-pin) device that implements the IrDA standard for wireless connectivity, including: IrLAP, IrLMP, IAS, TinyTP and IrCOMM (9-wire “Cooked” service level). It also provides IrDA standard physical signalling layer support, including: bidirectional communication, implementation of CRC and 9600 bps fixed communication speed. In addition, it also includes UART-IrDA standard encoding / decoding functions, which are easy to connect with industry standard UART and infrared transceivers.
