This document introduces the MM74C914 Hex Schmitt Trigger, which is a monolithic CMOS hex Schmitt trigger with a special input protection scheme. It allows the input voltage levels to exceed VCC or ground by at least 10V (VCC-25V to GND + 25V), making it suitable for applications involving voltage level shifting or mismatched power supplies. It has low variation in positive and negative threshold voltages with respect to temperature (typ 0.0005V/°C at VCC = 10V) and guaranteed hysteresis (VT+ - VT- ≥ 0.2 VCC). Other features include: hysteresis: 0.45 VCC (typical), 0.2 VCC guaranteed; special input protection: extended input voltage range; wide supply voltage range: 3V to 15V; high noise immunity: 0.7 VCC (typical); low power TTL compatibility: fan out of 2 driving 74L.
