3M™ XYZ-Axis Electrically Conductive Tape 9712 is a pressure sensitive tape with isotropical conductivity. It is ideal for EMI/RFI shielding and gasket attachment to metal surfaces.

The document describes the application of Part No. 314, which can be used to electrically connect, insulate, and provide a moisture resistant seal. It is suitable for 22-14 AWG solid or stranded, tinned or untinned (0.5-1.5 mm2) copper conductors. It is designed for use with common thermoplastic insulated wires such as T, TF, TFF, TFN, TFFN, AWM, TEW, SAE-GPT, with a maximum insulation diameter of 0.150 inches (3.8 mm). The maximum recommended current for general purpose applications ranges from 3 to 15 AMPS depending on the wire gauge.

3M™ XYZ-Axis Electrically Conductive Tape 9713 is an isotropically conductive pressure sensitive tape. Tape 9713 conducts electricity through the thickness (Z-axis) and in the plane of the adhesive (X, Y planes) and is ideal for EMI/RFI shield and EMI/RFI gasket attachment to metal surfaces. The tape consists of a high performance 3M adhesive loaded with conductive fibers. The result is a double-sided tape providing both good adhesion and good electrical performance. The conductive fibers in tape 9713 also provide improved handling characteristics. XYZ-Axis Electrically Conductive tape 9713 is ideal for attaching EMI shields to electronic and electrical devices. Tape 9713 may be used with many types of foil laminate shields, such as aluminum/PVC or copper/PVC laminates, to provide a customized shielding solution. This tape may also be used to attach conductive fabric/foam core EMI gaskets to electronic cabinetry. Tape 9713 may be applied in strips or die cut to specific shapes and sizes. Compared to screws or other mechanical connectors, tape 9713 provides reduced assembly time and a solid bond line with no gaps which might result in EMI emission.

Scotchfil™ Electrical Insulation Putty is an electrical grade putty in tape form. It has excellent electrical and aging properties, does not dry out, and applies cleanly without waste. It can be used to insulate low voltage connections, fill out irregularities in low voltage cable splices, smooth bus bar irregularities, etc.

Scotch® Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape is a premium grade, 0.178mm thick, all-weather vinyl insulating tape. It is designed to perform continuously in a temperature ambient of up to 105°C (220°F). The tape is conformable for cold weather application down to –18° (0°F). It has excellent resistance to abrasion, moisture, alkalies, acids, corrosion and varying weather conditions (including ultraviolet exposure). The combination of elastic backing and aggressive adhesive provides moisture-tight electrical and mechanical protection with minimum bulk. Super 33+ is an Underwriters’ Laboratories Listed and Canadian Standards Association Certified “Insulating Tape”.

3M™ Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 79 is a 7-mil woven insulating glass cloth tape with an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. This tape is used to electrically insulate and provide mechanical protection at temperatures to 302° F (150° C). This tape provides insulation and solvent-resistant protection for use as coil cover, anchor, banding and core, layer and crossover insulation. It is edge-tear resistant, conformable and printable. It also features a superb absorption of resin and varnishes.
