The agarose gel DNA recovery kit uses a silica-based matrix that can efficiently and specifically bind DNA and a unique buffer system to recover DNA fragments from TAE or TBE agarose gels, while removing impurities such as proteins, other organic compounds, inorganic salt ions and oligonucleotide primers. It can recover fragments of 100 bp-30 kb in size, with a recovery rate of over 80%, and each centrifugal adsorption column can adsorb up to 20 μg of DNA each time. The DNA recovered using this kit can be used for a variety of routine operations, including enzymatic cutting, PCR, sequencing, library screening, ligation and transformation.
