This Twiflex service manual provides specifications, dimensions, installation, and maintenance details for MX13, MX25, MX30, and MX40 disc brake calipers…
About this manual
The MX series disc brake calipers are supplied as right‑hand assemblies (left‑hand can be provided on request) and are designed for brake discs of 12.7, 25.4, 30 and 40 mm thickness. They can be mounted horizontally at the 3 or 9 o’clock positions, or with an inclined mounting kit if angled more than about 10°. The calipers work with Twiflex asbestos‑free high‑friction brake pads and must be used with the specified pads to retain warranty.
The manual includes installation instructions, pad‑replacement procedures for both air‑applied and spring‑applied calipers, torque specifications, and a full list of spare parts such as diaphragms, piston‑rod assemblies and thruster components. It also provides performance data like maximum pressure, braking force and thruster displacement.

Frequently asked questions
What brake pads must be used with Twiflex disc brake calipers?
Only Twiflex asbestos‑free brake pads may be used; any other pads will invalidate the warranty.
How do you replace pads on an air‑applied caliper?
Secure the installation, straighten the tabs at each end of the pads, remove the worn pads, clean the disc and pad recesses, fit new pads and bend the tabs 90° to hold them in position.
What is the tightening torque for the mounting bolt?
The mounting bolt (M12, Grade 8.8) should be tightened to 87 Nm.
What is the maximum pressure the calipers can handle?
The calipers are rated for a maximum pressure of 7 bar.
