This kit provides a hydrophilic tissue expansion method that can quickly transparent and expand centimeter-scale tissue samples. The method removes lipids from within the tissue through a delipidation solution, loosens the tissue, and allows the monomer to be evenly distributed in the tissue. The monomer-soaked tissue is then exposed to UV light to induce monomer polymerization, which fixes the biomolecules in situ. After polymerization, the sample can be expanded about 4 times in one direction and about 64 times in volume when exposed to water.
