This manual introduces the current relationship interview and scoring system. The system is used to assess adult attachment behavior in close relationships. The system includes six assessment dimensions: secure base (loving, rejection, involving, controlling, dependence, communication), safe haven (careseeking, caregiving), current state/discourse style (valuing intimacy, valuing independence, angry speech, derogating partner or attachment, idealization or normalization of partner/relationship, passivity of speech, fear of loss of partner), unresolved/disorganized (coherence of transcript). The system also provides a classification system for classifying subjects into four categories: secure, avoidant, anxious, and disorganized.
