Pentair UNIVERSAL BOOSTER PUMP INSTALLATION AND PARTS LIST Installation Guide

Update: 28 September, 2023

This is a 3/4 horsepower booster pump with a 1.5 service factor that produces a minimum of 50 psi at 12 GPM. The pump should be installed on a firm and level surface, and bolting it down is not required unless mandated by local code. It should be installed close to a filtered water return line and a convenient location for servicing. The booster pump must always be connected to the return line on the discharge side of the filter and should never be connected on the suction side ahead of the filter. On installations with a heater, the suction side of the booster pump must be connected to the return line after the heater, and it should be kept a minimum of 3 feet away from the heater. When installing any Pentair automatic pool cleaner in a pool with solar heating, an in-line tee must be installed on the return line between the filter and the solar heater to minimize air lock and ensure a sufficient water supply. For pool/spa combo installations, the suction side of the booster pump should be connected before the spa bypass valve.
