MAXIM MAX6641 Manual

MAX6641 is a temperature sensor and fan controller that accurately measures the temperature of its own die and the temperature of a remote PN junction. The device uses a 2-wire serial interface to report temperature values in digital form. The temperature data controls the PWM output signal to adjust the speed of the cooling fan. This allows for minimal noise when the system operates at low temperatures, but provides maximum cooling capacity when power consumption increases. The device also features an over-temperature alert output for generating interrupt, slowdown, or shutdown signals. MAX6641 operates in a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V, with a typical supply current of 500mA. The MAX6641 is available in a small 10-pin µMAX package and operates in an automotive temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
