Maxim MAX764/MAX765/MAX766 Inverting Switching Regulators Datasheet
The MAX764, MAX765, and MAX766 are BiCMOS inverting switch‑mode power supplies that provide fixed outputs of –5 V, –12 V, and –15 V, respectively, with an adjustable range from –1 V to –16 V using external resistors. They feature a current‑limited pulse‑frequency‑modulated (PFM) control scheme, an internal P‑channel MOSFET, and operate with miniature surface‑mount inductors at up to 300 kHz.
The document includes electrical characteristics, absolute maximum ratings, typical operating curves, pin descriptions, and design guidelines for inductors, diodes, and capacitors. Component supplier tables and application notes for LCD‑bias generators, portable instruments, and battery‑powered systems are also provided.
Covers: General Description · Applications · Features · Absolute Maximum Ratings · Electrical Characteristics · Typical Operating Characteristics
