The Helijet by Agilent Technologies is specifically designed for cryo-crystallography experiments requiring temperatures in the range of 75-15 Kelvin. It is developed for use with Agilent Technologies' Xcalibur, Gemini, and SuperNova diffractometers, and its compact construction is ideal for CCD diffractometers. The unique design of the Helijet allows for complete freedom of movement of a Kappa goniometer and unobscured optical access to the biological macromolecular or small molecule crystal without the need for crystal shielding. The Helijet provides an efficient cold stream up to 5 mm from the nozzle tip with a very uniform temperature distribution within the cold stream. To prevent ice formation, the Helijet utilizes shield gas technology. It has a patented design that minimizes helium consumption to less than 2 liters per hour and achieves a base temperature of less than 10 K.
