DATACRAFT VBWV1 Users Guide
VBWV1 is a display driver board launched by HP. It is equipped with an Epson display controller with 80K bytes of embedded SRAM. It can drive active matrix TFT/TFD and passive single and dual scan displays, with a maximum resolution of 640x480. It supports 1/2/4/8 bits of color depth, 640x480 resolution at 2bpp, 640x240 resolution at 4bpp, and 320x240 resolution at 8bpp. It supports 3.3V and 5V panel power, RS232, RS485, I2C, and SPI interfaces. The board has an LCD VEE voltage generator that can adjust the contrast. The board has 128K bytes of E2prom for image storage (32K standard). It has a built-in character set that supports 8x8 and 8x16 characters. It supports foreground and background color attributes, and direct write and character write modes. It supports block transfer of graphics data from E2 memory to display memory. It supports storing the display controller set-up registers register and look up table in the microcontroller's internal E2 memory, which enables automatic display initialization on power up. The board has an in-circuit programmable microcontroller with flash storage for easy updates and customization (directly interfaced to MPLAB ICD via CN2).
