INTERSIL -HIP6601B HIP6603B HIP6604B handbook

The HIP6601B, HIP6603B and HIP6604B are high-frequency, dual MOSFET drivers specifically designed to drive two power N-Channel MOSFETs in a synchronous rectified buck converter topology. These drivers combined with a HIP63xx or the ISL65xx series of Multi-Phase Buck PWM controllers and MOSFETs form a complete core-voltage regulator solution for advanced microprocessors. The HIP6601B drives the lower gate in a synchronous rectifier to 12V, while the upper gate can be independently driven over a range from 5V to 12V. The HIP6603B drives both upper and lower gates over a range of 5V to 12V. This drive-voltage flexibility provides the advantage of optimizing applications involving trade-offs between switching losses and conduction losses. The HIP6604B can be configured as either a HIP6601B or a HIP6603B. The output drivers in the HIP6601B, HIP6603B and HIP6604B have the capacity to efficiently switch power MOSFETs at frequencies up to 2MHz. Each driver is capable of driving a 3000pF load with a 30ns propagation delay and 50ns transition time. These drivers have extremely low EMI and have been qualified to AEC-Q100.

intersil EL5176 Manual

The EL5176 is a high bandwidth amplifier with an output in differential form. It is primarily targeted for applications such as driving twisted-pair lines or any application where common mode injection is likely to occur. The input signal can be in either single-ended or differential form but the output is always in differential form. On the EL5176, two feedback inputs provide the user with the ability to set the device gain (stable at minimum gain of one). The output common mode level is set by the reference pin (REF), which has a -3dB bandwidth of over 50MHz. Generally, this pin is grounded but it can be tied to any voltage reference. Both outputs (OUT+, OUT-) are short circuit protected to withstand temporary overload condition. The EL5176 is available in the 10-pin MSOP package and is specified for operation over the full -40°C to +85°C temperature range. See also EL5171 (EL5176 in 8-pin MSOP.)

intersil EL5172 EL5372 Manual

The EL5172 and EL5372 are single and triple high bandwidth amplifiers designed to extract the difference signal from noisy environments. They are primarily targeted for applications such as receiving signals from twisted-pair lines or any application where common mode noise injection is likely to occur. The EL5172 and EL5372 are stable for a gain of one and requires two external resistors to set the voltage gain. The output common mode level is set by the reference pin (VREF), which has a -3dB bandwidth of over 120MHz. Generally, this pin is grounded but it can be tied to any voltage reference. The output can deliver a maximum of ±60mA and is short circuit protected to withstand a temporary overload condition. The EL5172 is available in the 8-pin SO and 8-pin MSOP packages and the EL5372 in a 24-pin QSOP package. Both are specified for operation over the full -40°C to +85°C temperature range.

intersil ISL8483 ISL8485 ISL8488 ISL8489 ISL8490 ISL8491 handbook

Intersil RS-485/RS-422 devices are BiCMOS 5V powered, single transceivers that meet both the RS-485 and RS-422 standards for balanced communication. The devices feature slew rate limited drivers which reduce EMI, and minimize reflections from improperly terminated transmission lines, or unterminated stubs in multidrop and multipoint applications. Data rates up to 5Mbps are achievable by using the ISL8485, ISL8490, or ISL8491, which feature higher slew rates. All devices present a 'single unit load' to the RS-485 bus, which allows up to 32 transceivers on the network. Receiver (Rx) inputs feature a 'fail-safe if open' design, which ensures a logic high Rx output if Rx inputs are floating. Driver (Tx) outputs are short circuit protected, even for voltages exceeding the power supply voltage. Additionally, on-chip thermal shutdown circuitry disables the Tx outputs to prevent damage if power dissipation becomes excessive.

intersil ISL6431 handbook

The ISL6431 is a high efficiency, fixed frequency, synchronous buck PWM controller. It is designed for use in applications that convert 5V to lower distributed voltages required for set-top box, cable modem, DSL modem and residential home gateway core processor, memory and peripheral power supplies. This device makes simple work out of implementing a complete control and protection scheme for a DC-DC stepdown converter. Designed to drive N-channel MOSFETs in a synchronous buck topology, the ISL6431 integrates the control, output adjustment, monitoring and protection functions into a single 8-pin package. The ISL6431 provides simple, single feedback loop, voltage- mode control with fast transient response. The output voltage can be precisely regulated to as low as 0.8V, with a maximum tolerance of ±1.5% over temperature and line voltage variations. A fixed frequency oscillator reduces design complexity, while balancing typical application cost and efficiency. The error amplifier features a 15MHz gain-bandwidth product and 6V/µs slew rate which enables high converter bandwidth for fast transient performance.

ISL6406, ISL6426 is an adjustable frequency, synchronous buck switching regulator optimized for generating lower voltages for the distributed DC-DC architectures. ISL6406 offers an adjustable output voltage, while ISL6426 provides a fixed 1.8V output. Designed to drive N-Channel MOSFETs in synchronous buck topology, the ISL6406, ISL6426 integrates the control, output adjustment and protection functions into a single package. The ISL6406, ISL6426 provides simple, single feedback loop, voltage-mode control with fast transient response. The output voltage can be precisely regulated to as low as 0.8V. The error amplifier features a 15MHz gain-bandwidth product and 6V/µs slew rate which enables high converter bandwidth for fast transient performance. Protection from overcurrent conditions is provided by monitoring the rDS(ON) of the upper MOSFET to inhibit PWM operation appropriately. This approach simplifies the implementation and improves efficiency by eliminating the need for a current sense resistor. The wide programmable switching frequency range of 100kHz to 700kHz allows the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors. The device also provides external frequency synchronization making it an ideal choice for DC-DC converter applications.
