MAXIM MAX9424 MAX9427 handbook

MAX9424-MAX9427 are high-speed, low-skew quad PECL to ECL translators designed for high-speed data and clock driver applications. These devices feature an ultra-low 0.24ps(RMS) random jitter and channel-to-channel skew is less than 90ps in asynchronous mode. The four channels can be operated synchronously with an external clock, or in asynchronous mode determined by the state of the SEL input. An enable input provides the ability to force all the outputs to a differential low state. The parts differ from one another by their input and output termination options. The input options are an open input or an internal differential 100Ω termination. The output options are an open-emitter output or a series 50Ω termination. See Ordering Information. MAX9424-MAX9427 operate from a positive voltage supply of +2.375V to +5.5V, and a negative supply voltage of -2.375V to -5.5V and operate across the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. They are offered in 32-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFP and space-saving 5mm x 5mm QFN packages. Applications include data and clock driver and buffer, central office backplane clock distribution, DSLAM backplane, base station, and ATE. Features include 0.24ps RMS Added Random Jitter, 10ps Channel-to-Channel Skew in Synchronous Mode, Guaranteed 500mV Differential Output at 3GHz Clock Frequency, 420ps Propagation Delay in Asynchronous Mode, Functionally Compatible with SK4426 (MAX9424), SK4430 (MAX9425), SK4436 (MAX9426), SK4440 (MAX9427), and Integrated Circuits.

MAXIM MAX727/MAX728/MAX729 handbook

The MAX727/MAX728/MAX729 are monolithic, bipolar, pulse-width modulation (PWM), switch-mode, step-down DC-DC regulators. Each is rated at 2A. Very few external components are needed for standard operation because the power switch, oscillator, feedback, and control circuitry are all on-chip. Employing a classic buck topology, these regulators perform high-current step-down functions. These regulators have excellent dynamic and transient response characteristics, while featuring cycle-by-cycle current limiting to protect against overcurrent faults and short-circuit output faults. They also have a wide 8V to 40V input range. Each regulator is available in a 5-pin TO-220 package. These devices have a preset 100kHz oscillator frequency and a preset current limit of 2.6A. See the MAX724/ MAX726 data sheet for more applications information.

MAXIM MAX202E MAX213E MAX232E/MAX241E handbook

The MAX202E–MAX213E, MAX232E/MAX241E line drivers/receivers are designed for RS-232 and V.28 communications in harsh environments. Each transmitter output and receiver input is protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks, without latchup. The various combinations of features are outlined in the Selector Guide. The drivers and receivers for all ten devices meet all EIA/TIA-232E and CCITT V.28 specifications at data rates up to 120kbps, when loaded in accordance with the EIA/TIA-232E specification. The MAX211E/MAX213E/MAX241E are available in 28- pin SO packages, as well as a 28-pin SSOP that uses 60% less board space. The MAX202E/MAX232E come in 16-pin TSSOP, narrow SO, wide SO, and DIP packages. The MAX203E comes in a 20-pin DIP/SO package, and needs no external charge-pump capacitors. The MAX205E comes in a 24-pin wide DIP package, and also eliminates external charge-pump capacitors. The MAX206E/MAX207E/MAX208E come in 24-pin SO, SSOP, and narrow DIP packages. The MAX232E/MAX241E operate with four 1µF capacitors, while the MAX202E/MAX206E/MAX207E/MAX208E/ MAX211E/MAX213E operate with four 0.1µF capacitors, further reducing cost and board space.

MAXIM MAX4789 MAX4794 handbook

The MAX4789 series switches feature internal current limiting to prevent damage to host devices due to faulty load conditions. These analog switches have a low 0.2Ω on-resistance and operate from 2.3V to 5.5V input voltage range. They are avail- able with guaranteed 200mA, 250mA, and 300mA cur- rent limits, making them ideal for SDIO and other load switching applications. When the switch is on and a load is connected to the port, a guaranteed blanking time of 14ms ensures that the transient voltages settle down. If after this blanking time the load current is greater than the current limit, the MAX4789, MAX4791, and MAX4793 enter a latch- off state where the switch is turned off and FLAG is issued to the microprocessor. The switch can be turned on again by cycling the power or the ON pin. The MAX4790, MAX4792, and MAX4794 have an autoretry feature where the switch turns off after the blanking time and then continuously checks to see if the overload condition is present. The switch remains on after the overload condition disappears.
